Long-Sleeved Wedding Dresses

Dress by Paolo Sebastian autumn/winter 2014

Long sleeved wedding gowns are very elegant and classical which is why they are a very popular choice for traditional weddings. While satin sleeves will keep you warm and are perfect for winter weddings, delicate French lace or embroidered silk tulle sleeves are great for spring and summer weddings. If you want to get married in a dress that screams royal chic, long sleeves are a must. You can’t go wrong with the combination of a full skirt and lace bodice, just think Grace Kelly or Kate Middleton.

Even celebrities are taking following this trend! Kim Kardashian looked sophisticated and chic in a white, Givenchy Haute Couture lace gown that featured strategically placed sheer panels and an entirely sheer back. Her long lace sleeves added a delicate touch to the stunning dress while the modest neckline was balanced out by the mermaid silhouette that showed off her feminine curves.

Dresses by Monique Lhuillier Spring 2015

Kate Middleton’s wedding dress with long sleeves made from delicate lace constantly inspires fashion designers and this season several of them were influenced by that legendary Alexander McQueen gown. Our favourite interpretation are by Monique Lhuillier who designed a beautiful gown with tulle skirt, Chantilly lace overlay, sweetheart neckline and long sleeves.

Dress by Alice Temperly Spring 2015

Alice Temperley created a dress that was also quite similar to Kate Middleton’s but instead of the full skirt it was a sexy A-line gown, tailored to accent the hips and waist and was made from delicate French lace with a floral design.

Dress by Marchesa Spring 2015

Marchesa's spring 2015 bridal collection includes a short-sleeved dress influenced by Grace Kelly’s wedding gown, but also some amazing long-sleeved designs. We loved her white ball gown with tulle skirt and long-sleeved bodice made from re-embroidered lace.
